New Features in Library Master 3
If you are a user of Library Master version 1 or 2, there are many advantages
to upgrading to version 3. The upgrade includes a complete new set
of user's manuals, including a helpful tutorial to get your started quickly.
There are also additional new
features in version 3.03, which is a minor upgrade that enhances
version 3.0.

Version 3.03 is the last DOS version of Library Master. It is recommended that
all users upgrade to Library Master for Windows,
which is considerably more advanced and still under constant improvement.
Library Master 3.0 New Features
Version 3.0 includes over 100 exciting new features to simplify your writing
and research: automatic footnotes and citations, customizable duplicate record
detection, global search and replace, advanced sorting, abbreviation tables,
and importing from dozens of new sources. Library Master 3.0 will
save you hours on every research and writing project.
Automatic Footnotes and In-text Citations:
- Effortlessly create footnotes and in-text citations in any style. Use
numbered, author-date, full references or any other citation style.
- Footnotes automatically use a full first citation and abbreviated
subsequent citations of the same work.
- Footnotes can optionally use "ibid." and "op. cit."
- Footnotes and citations can include page numbers. Page numbering is
automatically changed to the proper style: 190-199, 190-9, 190f, 190ff
or 190.
- Automatically create a bibliography of works cited. Include citations
taken from multiple text files.
- Paste citation markers from a database into your document.
Time-Saving Editing Conveniences:
- Global search and replace changes the field contents or Record Type of
an entire group of records.
- Search and replace in several fields at once.
- Copy a whole record as a model for a new record.
- Automatically remove unused space at the end of a line for consistent
data entry.
- Save data entry time by entering abbreviations which are automatically
expanded.
- Select items from authority tables which list valid entries.
Flexible Duplicate Record Detection:
- Quickly locate duplicate records.
- Edit or delete duplicate records. Combine abstracts from several
records into one record.
- Specify any set of fields to compare for duplicates.
Easier Database Browsing:
- Quickly jump to a desired entry in a Field Contents Table. As you type
letters, the first entry with these letters is highlighted. Enter "Joh"
to jump to "Johnson".
- Field Contents Tables scroll to display long entries.
- Mark multiple records to delete, cite, print, paste to the Windows
clipboard or save to a Record List.

Library Master 3 runs on any IBM PC-compatible computer with 640K of memory, DOS
3.3 or later and 5MB hard disk space. Microsoft Windows compatible. The
network version is compatible with Novell Netware, Lantastic, Lan Manager,
OS/2 Warp, DEC Pathworks, Windows NT server and other IBM compatible networks.
