Library Master for DOS
Version 3.03 Upgrade


The final revision of DOS version of the popular Library Master bibliographic database manager is now available.

Since the DOS version of Library Master is no longer under active development, this is the last version that will be available. It is strongly recommended that users upgrade to the Windows version which has many improvements compared to the DOS version.

Library Master 3.03 New Features

If you have Library Master 1 or 2, you can also read about the changes in version 3.

Library Master 3.03 adds several enhancements to version 3:

  1. Import from several new sources: National Library of Medicine Medline on the Web, SquareNote and Religious and Theological Abstracts for Windows.

  2. Better importing from several sources including ProCite for Windows and BookWhere 2000.

  3. More accurate formatting in most bibliographic styles.

  4. Create bibliographies in the University of South Africa style (UNISA).

  5. Word Processor support for Microsoft Word for Windows has been improved, particularly with accented characters.

  6. Word Processor support for WordPerfect 6 - 8 has been improved, particularly when formatting footnotes.


Library Master 3.02 New Features

The following new features were previously added in Library Master 3.02:

  1. Create bibliographies and citations in new bibliographic styles, including American Medical Association (AMA) and Modern Humanities Research Association (MHRA). The MHRA Style Sheet automatically formats bibliographic footnotes as well as the bibliography. Several existing style sheets have been improved.

  2. Create bibliographies and other reports in the WordPerfect 7 file format. Formatting of citations in WordPerfect 6 files has also been improved.

  3. Use proportionally spaced fonts, such as Times Roman and Arial, in documents created for WordPerfect and Microsoft Word.

  4. Import citations from the University of Toronto online library catalog, Harvard University library catalog and any PALS online catalog, including the University of Minnesota.

  5. Import from hundreds of online library catalogs on the Internet with the optional BookWhere program (available separately). BookWhere allows you to search any number on online catalogs with an easy-to-use Windows search program. The search results can be saved to a Library Master database.

  6. Switch a document back and forth between footnotes and in-text citations in WordPerfect documents.

  7. Several new report features for customized style sheets and column-based reports.

  8. More flexible options for read-only databases in public areas.


Library Master 3.01 New Features

The following new features were previously added in Library Master 3.01:

  1. Automatically create bibliographies and other documents to publish on the World Wide Web. Simply choose the the HTML file format as the output file format instead of a word processor format and your report will be ready to publish on the World Wide Web!

  2. Month names may be entered and displayed in German, English, Spanish, French, Danish, Dutch, Norwegian, Swedish and other languages.

  3. Numeric dates may optionally display a leading zero (01/02/95).

  4. Additional bibliographic styles, including American Political Science Association and APA with cited page numbers. Improvements and corrections in several existing styles.

  5. New import filters, including CARL UNCOVER, Notebuilder databases and INNOPAC online catalogs.

  6. When you paste a citation marker to the clipboard, it automatically removes accents and font codes so the citation marker is in the proper format.

  7. The current date can be inserted into a field with a single keystroke.

  8. The complete set of journal abbreviations from Index Medicus.

  9. Enhanced database repair feature enables the restoration of partially damaged records.

  10. Database files on a network can be marked read-only for greater security.
